When we went into Addie's room to wake her yesterday morning we thought we had a contortionist on our hands! It isn't uncommon to find her with one of her arms out of the sleeves of her PJ's, but this morning not only was one of her arms out, but she had somehow gotten her left leg into the right leg and her right leg into the left leg of her PJ's. Her jammies were wrapped around her body so she looked like she was lying on her back with her butt facing us. In our early morning stupor it was pretty hilarious. It's probably easier if you just watch. Addie has her first cough. It's so sad. It doesn't seem to bother her spirits much, but it is sure reeking havoc with her ability to screech and "talk". She sounds like she's smoking about a pack a day. My mom suggested that she may be reacting to something we've fed her. Who knows what that could be. We've given her a ton of new foods. Carrots have been the favorite so far.

Food has altered other systems in her little body as well. I have been trying and trying without success to get a shot of her "poop face". The girls at book club on Saturday got a glimpse of that, and it's really funny. (she's going to just LOVE that when she's 14.)

Addie has really gotten good at reaching out for stuff. It still takes us by surprise when we're sitting with her on our lap and she suddenly has our dinner plate in her hand and she's got it nearly off the table before we notice. She also loves to pull my hair. My friend Maggie and I always wondered why women cut their hair when they got married and had kids - duh! It's all become suddenly so clear to me now! I'm sure my earrings and glasses are next.

Fingers and toes are also a source of fascination - hers or anyone else's. It's so funny for her to suddenly spot her hand on the end of her own arm. She turns it over slowly and looks at it in amazement like, "Wow, where did THIS come from?!" Oh to be so easily entertained!

Great reading your blog and experiences alongside Grant and ours... Best bet for easy blackmail options when 14 I reckon is taking lots of photos of them in ridiculous baby costumes for Halloween etc... Grant is in trouble when he is a teenager.
